“OVER YOU”

LANDON BARKER

BABY OVER MY DEAD BODY

“Over You” is set in the cinematic, warm, barren tones of the desert as Landon’s friends mourn the loss of their friend who was unable to get over the loss of a former love.

The film starts by seeing Landon tormented by the loss in a desolate bedroom before he plunges into his coffin. His friends mourn him and toss flowers over him, contrasting the dry hues of the earth. They carry his coffin over their shoulders, marching through the desert.

Quick and blurred flashbacks show beautiful, fleeting moments between Landon and his former love. Alone in the vast and empty desert and giving context to what Landon has lost.

The video climaxes as we reach an ethereal performance. Landon is performing with energy in the night under pulsing red lighting as the desert dust kicks up around him. Is he in Heaven or Hell?!

The video comes to a conclusion as Landon is back in his bedroom. The sheets are messy. A blurry figure moves around in the foreground.

The final shot shows his beautiful ex leaving him alone in the room and with his tortured thoughts.

THE BEDROOM

This scene and setup is used as Landon’s main performance in the real world. The room is unkept and dry. It feels as if the desert has halfway moved in to this space.

The camera is handheld and focuses on the anguish and turmoil Landon is going through as his ex has just left him. Intimate shots up close make the viewer feel his pain and torture.

THE FUNERAL

In a quick edit, Landon goes from his bed to his casket, where he is laying down and looking upward singing toward the camera.

We see a handful of Landon’s friends (6-8) mourning his loss over his casket in the desert. They are not dressed in traditional funeral clothing. They are just…themselves. They are seen tossing flowers onto his body as they mourn the man who died of a broken heart.

THE PROCESSION

Via an overhead rig and other unique camera mounts, we follow Landon as his friends carry him through the desert. He is “alive” and sings directly to the camera as we experiment with unique shots.

Slow-motion shots of his friends hands and feet marching through the desert are intercut

ETHEREAL

As we reach the bridge and the final chorus, Landon is under the night sky of the desert. Flashing red lights provide movement and a chaotic energy behind him.

This moment is the emotional high point of the video. Landon has passed on and is to the other side. The viewer will question if he is in a better place or if he is further tortured…

THE ENDING

We are flashing between all of our setups. It is powerful and cinematic and we really feel the emotion that Landon is going through.

We begin to see quick, fast glimpses of his ex in the bedroom with him where we had not before.

In the final shot, we see his ex leaving the room for the last time, leaving Landon alone……

We’ve all been there. Absolutely heartbroken over some one and the love that you had….through the ups and downs.

This is such a killer song and I think crafting this video with some slightly uncomfortable visuals yet in a beautiful way will be incredible. I want to push creative boundaries with this. Also, getting the chance to work with Landon at the dawn of his career and craft a striking piece for him to continue to establish his identity would be a huge honor.

l’m confident I can create an incredible video for this song and am thankful for the opportunity!

(As always, I am completely open to any notes or thoughts on this concept to help it reach it’s maximum potential!)
